Pitney Bowes to Host Global Hackathon to Develop Applications for Next Generation SendPro C-Series

STAMFORD, Conn., - Millions of developers from major technology communities are invited to participate in a Global Hackathon to build applications and solutions for the next generation SendPro C-Series, announced Pitney Bowes (NYSE:PBI), a global technology company that provides innovative products and solutions to power commerce. The Pitney Bowes SendPro C-Series offers a complete solution that handles all business sending needs via the Google Android Operating System.

Millions of developers from major technology communities and innovation platforms are invited to register for the Global Hackathon which begins on September 29 and concludes on October 1, 2017. Registration for this event is available through September 27, 2017.

Developers will collaborate to build applications and solutions for more than one million Pitney Bowes clients as they identify and locate customers, communicate with them, collect payments and ship merchandise. The broad business themes and Hackathon categories are Shipping and Mailing, Ecommerce, Address Management, Data, Location Intelligence, Know Your Customer, Marketing Services, Payments, Hyperlocal, Productivity Tools, and Document Security.

Pitney Bowes is also planning to create an App Store leveraging Google Cloud's Orbitera technology. Clients will access business applications that go beyond shipping and mailing through the Pitney Bowes App Store.

The SendPro C-Series leverages the latest cloud technology and is also an access point for the Pitney Bowes Commerce Cloud which offers a host of valuable new applications and services from Pitney Bowes.
