Print 17 showcases latest UV LED curing solutions from ITL

Press release from the issuing company

Shorewood, Illinois - UV LED curing specialist Integration Technology North America (ITL NA) showcases latest developments from its LEDcure product programme for digital, inkjet and other graphics applications at print and packaging event, Print 17 (Booth 652, McCormick Place South - Chicago, IL; September 10–14).

Print 17 is the US’s principal international graphic communications exposition, offering international companies a unique opportunity to meet with key buyers in the immense North America market, under one roof.

A wide range of new LEDcure water- and air-cooled UV LED solutions is being shown in Booth 652 by ITL and local market partner and parent company, IST America.

LEDcure is the final element in the re-engineering of of LED solutions supplied by the two companies.

It’s a variable system guaranteeing optimum coordination to suit the differing requirements of sheet-fed offset presses. Newly-developed, interchangeable optics ensure optimum light yield on the substrate. The systems are available in different wavelengths or in a mixture of wavelengths, the standard being 385 nm. Water-cooled LED chips guarantee a high level of efficiency and system durability.

The system ITL’s products feature its innovative high output/dose XT8 UV LED Booster technology, which offers high-performing thermal properties and UV output increases without any need for additional driver current. In turn, this technology yields stable output and an exceptionally long service life well in excess of 50,000hours.

XT8 is also a feature of the new IST LEDcure system for sheetfed presses which makes it‘s debut on the booth alongside the ITL LED portfolio.

XT8 features new supporting technologies in form of STEADYcool and VARIcool, for water and air cooling respectively and offering more consistent, quieter and consistent cooling performance.

STEADYcool features specially designed water passages fitted with dynamic flow devices which enhance the water cooling surface area ensuring maximum thermal transfer and cooling efficiency. This ensures totally even cooling to within 5°C and consistent UV output even on the longest of arrays.

VARIcool is a closed loop electronic system which automatically adjusts the cooling to individual segments within the total length of the LED  array according to both the ambient temperature and working duty cycle, consequently eliminating any start-up spike and delivering a consistent output even in working environments of up to 45°C.

A significant feature of VARIcool is the low noise levels from the cooling fans, which ITL claims is quieter than any other products currently on the market.

At Print 17, ITL NA customer JetFX will be unveiling its new sheet-fed 3D varnish coating machine, running at 3,600 B2 sheets per hour, and employing ITL’s air-cooled PincureZ modules to create the depth in the UV varnish coating.
