Connex receives “Must See ‘Ems” award

Press release from the issuing company

Muller Martini’s system prevents workflow bottlenecks brought on by digital print production

Today’s digital IT staffs are growing because of the challenges faced by manipulating a multitude of variability files (e.g., content, format, run size, etc.) during the finishing process. Muller Martini’s Connex Workflow System is the first—and only—system available for today’s digital marketplace that delivers true file-to-finished product—with minimal manual intervention. And, it was just awarded a coveted “Must See ‘Ems” award within the post-press and inline finishing category.

Must See ‘Ems program are awarded by the Graphic Arts Show Company (GASC) which presents Print 17. The program recruits a panel of industry experts who review the hundreds of submissions to identify products and exhibits that show attendees "must see" in order to experience the most innovative technologies on the show floor.

An integral part of Muller Martini’s Finishing 4.0 design philosophy, the Connex Workflow System is designed for printers challenged by workflow bottlenecks brought on by the variabilities inherent in digital and hybrid print production. Not only do files need to be prepped, paginated and queued for multiple print engines, but they need to be finished without taking shortcuts. Connex provides a singular, powerful tool for overseeing, directing, troubleshooting, tracking and analyzing a job’s data and integrity throughout the entire production process, from file (i.e., PDF) to finished product. The result? Highly efficient and quality production that minimizes labor costs as well as waste.

The Connex Workflow System is available for saddle stitching, softcover and hardcover production and is compatible with all major print engines. Multiple modules make the Connex Workflow System a needs-driven, scalable solution that can be customized to every customer’s specific processes and challenges. Other advantages include:

  • Seamless on-the-fly impositioning
  • Automatic digital file transfer
  • 100% barcode encryption accuracy
  • 100% content validation
  • XML feedback of compliance data
  • Barcode-driven selective binding of hybrid products

Those attending Print 17 in Chicago on September 10-14 can learn more by visiting Muller Martini at Booth #625. There, hourly presentations will focus on the power and versatility of the Connex Workflow System.
