Independent Wins Gold at FSEA’s Annual Gold Leaf Awards

Press release from the issuing company

Midlothian, TX – Ennis, Inc., is pleased to announce that the recently acquired Independent Printing Company, Inc. has been honored at the FSEA’s (Foil & Specialty Effects Association) 24th Annual Gold Leaf Awards. Judged on design, execution and level of difficulty, Independent won the Gold award in the best use of foil and embossing category for its Neenah Paper client promotion titled “Fresh Takes on Classic Type.”

According to the FSEA, “The competition assesses submissions utilizing specialty finishing techniques, from foil stamping and embossing to specialty coating, film laminating, laser cutting, die-cutting, cold foil application and more. With a commitment to gaining visibility for the processes and those companies that execute the decorative enhancements, the competition celebrates the quality, added value, shelf presence, security and brand recognition that these finishing processes lend to the printed sheet.”

Independent’s winning piece highlighted their exceptional use of foil, embossing and die-cutting techniques throughout multiple pieces. Those pieces needed to register the foil and emboss to the die-cut area, all registering to the print. This process was executed throughout the entire project, not just on a specific page.

“We are thrilled to be honored in this category, as it truly showcases our strengths, not only as the top supplier of presentation solutions but as a team overall,” said Brian Tilot, General Manager. “This entry combined numerous pieces that were each unique and intricate in their own respect. Without the meticulousness and excellent communication between our team members, the final product would not have reached the success it rightfully has with this Gold award.”
