KBA-MetalPrint sells CleanAir division to the Dürr Group

Press release from the issuing company

With retrospective effect from 1st December 2016, KBA-MetalPrint GmbH in Stuttgart has sold its CleanAir division to Dürr Systems AG in Bietigheim-Bissingen under an asset deal. Thermal exhaust air purification systems manufactured under the name KBA-CleanAir are used not only in the company's own metal decorating lines, but also in other areas of the print industry, as well as in ink and paint production, surface treatment plants and the chemical industry. In 2016, the 20 employees concerned generated turnover in the low two-digit millions with systems for the purification of solvent- and odour-laden emissions.

For managing director Ralf Gumbel, the asset deal was a logical step: “When you look at the vast exhaust air purification market, we are represented only in the segment of thermal systems. For long-term success in this market, however, a broader portfolio, a global presence and a much greater scale of business are imperative. Against this background, we decided to concentrate our growth resources on our core business with production lines for the printing, coating and drying of tinplate und aluminium sheets. We will nevertheless continue to offer our customers the EcoTNV solution with thermal purification facilities integrated directly into the dryers of our printing and coating lines, of course. And with innovative new and further developments, we are geared to strengthening our market and technology leadership as the basis for further growth.”

Managing director Ralf Schechowiz adds another important aspect: “With the decision to transfer our CleanAir division to Dürr, we deliberately chose a renowned technology group with roots in the region, as this promised our loyal and experienced employees an attractive work environment with good future prospects within a short distance of their current workplace. Our thermal exhaust air purification systems also round off the portfolio offered by Dürr.”
