Press release from the issuing company

PARSIPPANY, N.J., USA – Sun Chemical will showcase its portfolio of inks for metal decoration during Cannex 2016 at the Colorado Convention Center from April 27-29, 2016.

During the event, Sun Chemical will demonstrate its expertise, knowledge and capabilities in metal decoration through its specialized ink solutions including special effects, brand protection, brand color management, laser marking and print standardization. On display will be three of its product families: SunDuo, SunTrio and SunAltec.

Sun Chemical’s range of SunDuo inks for two-piece cans optimize metal can print production with excellent printability, high speeds and good adhesion. The inks are suitable for the printing of steel and aluminum cans, both non-varnish and overvarnish (OV).

At Cannex 2016, Sun Chemical will present its latest addition to the SunDuo range, an upgrade of the existing overvarnish ink. The new OV ink offers improved performance during the printing process, with better printability and compatibility with over varnish. This results in enhanced transparency and ink mileage.

The SunTrio range for three-piece cans for sheetfed printing has excellent press performance and good adhesion between layers and to the substrate. SunTrio, both in UV and conventional, is suitable for all types of metal cans and closures from crowns to drums, aluminum pilfer proof caps, aerosols, food cans and fish drawn cans.

The SunAltec series of inks for metal decoration on cans, bottles and tubes offer outstanding performance, superior quality, high productivity, and fastness properties.

The MB Plus Series, part of the SunAltec product family, will be demonstrated at Cannex 2016. The versatile series has been specifically designed for the application of monobloc aerosols and uses an alkyd based ink system which has been modified for optimum performance, for new generation production lines as well as today’s basecoat technology. Any shade can be produced directly onsite with the help of the formula guide, Sun Chemical’s web based color matching tool. This gives the printer the highest possible flexibility and allows a very quick reaction to any specific customer color request.

Sun Chemical offers a complete range of solutions for metal decoration to help make packaging appealing as well as functional. Sun Chemical’s special effects portfolio, which includes tactile effects, color change inks, interactive solutions and sensory packaging ensures metal packaging has maximum visual impact on the shelf. Its broad range of brand protection solutions also helps to protect brands against counterfeiting and making products much more difficult to copy.
