Press release from the issuing company

New program seeks to advance education of the future workforce

Fairfax, Virginia - The new SGIA Scholarship Program is now accepting applications from students who plan to attend a post-secondary education program in the fall of 2016.

“SGIA strives to support the next generation of printers in any way we can, and this scholarship will go directly toward that effort,” said Johnny Shell, SGIA’s Vice President of Technical Services. “We’re excited and honored to be able to help these students.”

Supported by generous donations from endowment investors and industry leaders, the SGIA Scholarship Program will award $2,000 to five student recipients. Scholarship winners will be carefully selected by the SGIA Education Committee.

Student applicants are reviewed based on their scholastic achievement, application essay, participation in extracurricular activities, achievements and work experience, and academic and professional recommendations. They must be a student of an active SGIA Educator Member and committed to pursuing a career within the growing imaging community.

Students must submit their applications by April 15, 2016 to be considered. For more information, contact Erin Nuss, SGIA's Associate Manager of Education.
