SGS International acquires Kwikee

Press release from the issuing company

New acquisition adds digital distribution to SGS’ suite of client services

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – SGS International (SGS), a global leader in package production and related marketing services, announced today the acquisition of Peoria, Ill.-based MultiAd (Kwikee), the leading provider of product packaging images and related data to the retail food industry. Kwikee’s team of digital-distribution experts will integrate into SGS immediately. The AdBuilder business, which was previously spun off by MultiAd, was not part of the acquisition and will continue to operate on a standalone basis and be run by its existing management team.

“We are delighted to bring the Kwikee brand and its team of dedicated professionals onboard,” said Aidan Tracey, SGS chief executive officer. “The addition of Kwikee to SGS will significantly enhance both companies’ ability to provide clients with scalable solutions to create and distribute digital packaging assets for a wide range of uses.”

Currently, more than 98 percent of the top retail, e-commerce, convenience, drugstore, and wholesale companies utilize Kwikee images and data, which are provided to U.S. retail entities for use in physical and digital advertising, marketing, e-commerce, mobile and planogram applications. Kwikee works with a number of leading U.S. retailers to ensure they obtain the highest-quality and most up-to-date product-packaging content from more than 3,000 consumer packaged goods (CPG) manufacturers.

“Kwikee is a trusted partner for many of the world’s most-recognized brands,” said Tracey. “Kwikee’s expertise in the management and distribution of digital assets is second-to-none.”

Kwikee President and CEO John F. Kocher will continue to lead Kwikee under the SGS umbrella.

“The long-standing strategic relationships Kwikee maintains throughout the CPG industry allows us to be the trusted source for accurate product images and data,” said Kocher. “We are excited to be joining with a company that shares our commitment to our clients and possesses the vision required to embrace the fast-moving digital and e-commerce marketplace.”
