Industry Leaders Demonstrate Customer Success Driving Portfolio of Color Digital Presses

Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta) and Kodak have released the latest technology development in the KODAK CREO Server family — the IC-309 Server. Developed specifically for Konica Minolta’s bizhub PRO C1060/C1070 models, the company’s latest front-end technology innovation is designed on a new architecture with the same robustness and usability existing customers have appreciated for years.

First demonstrated at Print ’13 in Chicago and more recently at IPEX in London, the latest addition to the Konica Minolta portfolio combines all of the benefits of the CREO Server Technology with new core architecture and more than 50 new features. Enhancements include ease of operator use, job processing speed and efficiency through completely parallel, page-level and job-level RIP.

In a partnership spanning more than 20 years, Kodak and Konica Minolta have demonstrated a commitment to print customers through continued joint research and development, resulting in leading digital and hybrid technology innovations for the industry.

“This collaboration has yielded the benefit of a common workflow and image processing regardless of the device’s performance and color capabilities,” says Chris O’Connor, director of business development, Unified Workflow Solutions, Kodak. “The connectivity between Kodak and Konica Minolta is ideal for our customers’ very diverse production environments – light or full, mono or color, static or variable production.”

“Continuing our longstanding work with Kodak and CREO, this new front-end technology ensures a seamless, fully-integrated workflow experience for Konica Minolta’s high-volume print customers,” says Kevin Kern, senior vice president, Marketing, Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A.

“As a long-time KODAK CREO Server and Konica Minolta customer, we have come to expect the high image quality and productivity this partnership provides,” says Lisa A. Nofi, president, Variable Data Printing Inc., Copy Print. “As we do a lot of our work for nonprofit organizations, we often do short run, personalized pieces that need to be customized and delivered quickly. With Kodak and Konica Minolta, it’s been the perfect combination to allow us to do just that.”

CREO Servers are a leading solution for print-on-demand professionals based on the latest industry standards, including the ADOBE CPSI and PDF Print Engine (APPE).  Open connectivity and automation enable Konica Minolta Color Digital Press customers to seamlessly integrate with a variety of professional workflows using JDF standards, including KODAK PRINERGY Workflow. Through a unique architecture, advanced Variable Data Printing (VDP) capabilities and extensive document printing functionality, CREO Servers provide an integrated, robust technology platform to optimize the performance of digital production printers and presses.
