MAN Roland: Alan Miller appointed Regional Sales Manager for South

November 11, 2003 -- Alan J. Miller is the new Regional Sales Manager for the South at MAN Roland Inc. Working out of his home office in Florida, he is responsible for all newspaper press transactions in the Southern states. “Alan has been a champion of innovation in the newspaper industry for over 25 years,” said Vincent Lapinski, Chief Operating Officer of Web Operations, in announcing the appointment. “He understands what newspaper production professionals require, and now MAN Roland will support him with systems that will satisfy those needs.” Miller joined the graphic arts industry in 1978, accepting an accounting position with Rockwell International’s Graphic Systems Division (also known as Goss). He has held various positions in financial planning and marketing before becoming Sales Manager and later Sales Director. In his sales role Miller was responsible for major newspaper press orders at The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer, The Miami Herald, The (Lakeland) Ledger, The South Florida Sun-Sentinel and the Orlando Sentinel. In 2001 Miller joined Rockwell Automation as a Sales Director of the Print Initiative. In this role, he directed sales orders of press controls and main press drive systems. Major newspaper orders signed by Rockwell included The Boston Globe, The South Florida Sun-Sentinel, The Cincinnati Enquirer, the Daytona Beach News-Journal and the Spartanburg Herald-Journal.
