Four Star Color Propels Growth with New KBA Rapida 105

Press release from the issuing company

Growing firm moves to larger location, adds heavier board stock and more packaging capabilities

KBA North America announces that Four Star Color, a Newton, NJ packaging printer, is propelling its growth with a new KBA Rapida 105 41-inch six-color press with extended delivery and prepped with UV capabilities. The new press was delivered and installed in mid-July 2012 to coincide with the firm's move to its new 30,000 sq ft facility in Newton, NJ (Sussex County).

After contacting several press manufacturers and reviewing their models, Chuck Cioppa, president of Four Star Color, and his management team made the decision to purchase the new 41-inch from KBA. "After seeing the KBA factory and talking to other KBA customers and learning of the long distinguished KBA reputation and its majority stake in the packaging press market, I felt quite satisfied that our new KBA press would provide our firm and our customers with the quality, efficiency, and dependability that we need to continue growing," he says.

Four Star Color is receiving the first newly-designed Rapida 105 41-inch press in the U.S. incorporating many technical features from the popular makeready-champion KBA Rapida 106 41-inch press. The new  medium-format series, exhibited at Drupa 2012, has an extended range of automation options and increased press speed to 16,500 sph. Four Star's Rapida 105 is prepped with UV capabilities, allowing the firm to easily switch the press to UV in the future.

"We are pleased to forge a new partnership with Four Star Color," says Edward Heffernan, KBA sales representative. "Our new KBA Rapida 105 41-inch six-color press will become a centerpiece in Four Star's new facility."

Four Star Color was founded in 1964 as a photo engraver and began to offer color separation and platemaking services to support the printing industry. Since then, the firm has moved into printing and packaging production. Four Star Color also provides structural design and samples to help in the assistance with its customers' packaging needs.
