NEW YORK CITY – George Doehner, president, Bulkley Dunton, a business of xpedx and International Paper, announced today that he will retire Jan. 31, 2013 after more than 43 years of service.

Doehner is a veteran of the paper and publishing industry. He began his career as a sales trainee at what was then Bulkley Dunton Linde Lathrop after graduating from Villanova University with a B.S. in Marketing. He progressed through sales and sales management roles, was vice president at Bulkley Dunton, executive vice president, then became president of the BD Publishing Group in 1993. Through his leadership, BD today has a nationwide sales team reaching the major catalog, magazine and book publishers across the U.S. and internationally.

"George has brought incredible leadership to Bulkley Dunton and the entire publishing industry," said Dan Watkoske, executive vice president, Sales, xpedx. "We are grateful for his vision which has guided and grown the business through many changes in the industry, and has continued to grow BD as a leader in providing quality products and customer service."

"I look forward to this seamless transition and am confident that these plans will help pave the way for Bulkley Dunton's long-term success, serving our valued customers and suppliers," said Doehner.

Barry Nelson succeeds Doehner as group vice president of Bulkley Dunton. Nelson has more than 24 years of leadership in the paper industry, mostly with NewPage Corporation.

Nelson graduated with a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin, and is also a graduate of the Program for Management Development of the Harvard Business School. He brings a wealth of sales and marketing experience and leadership to his new role, and most recently served as NewPage senior vice president of Sales and Marketing. Nelson has also served as executive vice president at ForestExpress, a technology joint venture between a number of leading forest product companies.

"We are pleased to welcome Barry aboard," said Watkoske. "Barry brings seasoned experience to our business, and will nicely complement the leadership of David Backus, senior vice president, sales and operation, and the entire Bulkley Dunton organization."
