RR Donnelley Names Dr. Damayanti Vasudevan Vice President, Diversity and Inclusion

CHICAGO--March 9, 2004-- R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company today named Dr. Damayanti Vasudevan as Vice President, Diversity and Inclusion, a newly created position. She will be dedicated to strengthening RR Donnelley's ability to serve diverse customers by ensuring that the company's business practices are inclusive of people of the highest integrity and ability with a variety of backgrounds and credentials. Dr. Vasudevan, 43, will be responsible for continuing to accelerate inclusion and diversity at all levels of the company by establishing and implementing key workplace, marketplace and community outreach strategies that align with and support the new RR Donnelley's business and growth strategies. Over the span of a 22-year career, Dr. Vasudevan has developed numerous programs and tools to enable individual and organizational growth. For the past ten years, her primary focus has been on helping corporations to develop and implement strategies for leveraging business opportunities in a diverse environment. In 1999, she joined RR Donnelley, where she has held the positions of Director, Training and Organizational Development in the Logistics business unit and Director, Diversity and Organizational Effectiveness. "Damayanti has been a driving force at RR Donnelley in developing, promoting and implementing a strategy that values differences and attracts and retains the talent required to help us excel in the world in which we do business," said Mark A. Angelson, Chief Executive Officer of RR Donnelley. "She brings to her elevated position a unique combination of industry expertise, passion and leadership skills that will help us to achieve our goal of making RR Donnelley a champion of diversity. I look forward to working with her as we shape the RR Donnelley of the future." Dr. Vasudevan was recently named as Chair of U.S. Congressman Danny K. Davis' (D-IL) Committee on Diversity in the Workplace. Dr. Vasudevan received her Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from the University of Cincinnati and an M.S. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of Illinois. She also received an M.S. in Educational and Counseling Psychology and a B.A. with Honors in Psychology from the University of Tennessee.
