Press release from the issuing company
At Labelexpo Americas 2012, Screen USA will underscore its commitment to the label and packaging segments of the printing industry. Presentations in Booth 6347 from September 11-13 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill., will showcase new hardware and software breakthroughs in the expanded portfolio of Screen label and package printing-related products.
Truepress Jet L350UV makes North American debut
Screen developed the Truepress Jet L350UV to address the exploding demand for value-added packaging that intensifies product differentiation. Unveiled at drupa 2012, this innovative inkjet label printing system boasts photo-realistic quality, fast job turnarounds and stable output.
The Truepress Jet L350UV accommodates a printing width up to 12.6 inches and prints at a top speed of 164 feet per minute. It leads the industry as an inkjet printing system for labels with productivity of 173.2 square feet per minute. Lamination, die cutting and other postpress processing devices can be connected inline to automate label production from beginning to end.
To provide a wider color gamut than is typical with the four-color process, the Truepress Jet L350UV uses Screen’s proprietary high-definition UV inks. Optional opaque white ink further boosts color vibrancy while enhancing application versatility by allowing printing on transparent film and metallic foil.
Combined with advanced color management technology based on the Screen EQUIOS universal workflow, the Truepress Jet L350UV creates smooth, vivid gradations. The printing system incorporates single-pass grayscale piezo printheads with a minimum droplet size of 3 picoliters. Printing resolutions of 600 x 600 dpi and 600 x 1,200 dpi give sharp, well-defined images and text. An automatic printhead cleaning function helps ensure unfailing results.
PlateRite FX870II packaging solution
The PlateRite FX870II digital imaging recorder leverages Screen’s knowledge and experience within the graphic arts value chain. The PlateRite FX870II outputs narrow-web flexo digital plates, letterpress digital plates and thermal ablative film for the production of tags, labels, plastic bags and specialty materials. An option for imaging thermal offset plates is available.
A choice of 2,400 dpi, 2,540 dpi and 4,800 dpi resolutions coupled with screen rulings up to 200 lpi enables consistently precise imaging. The PlateRite FX870II is designed to support several screening methods, Screen’s 4,800 dpi Flexo Dot Hybrid Screening among them.
EQUIOS the output center for all printing devices
Screen’s new universal workflow supports print-on-demand and digital plate production using a single interface. EQUIOS drives multi-device output and controls all stages of production, from receipt of the customer file through delivery of the finished project. EQUIOS automates job management, including imposition and color management, across different Screen digital output devices, as well as inkjet and toner-based POD presses and proofers from third-party vendors. Operators monitor and manage jobs from a central dashboard. The EQUIOS Autoflow function allows users to define print workflows depending on the product type or size selected. This can be integrated into any web-to-print interface.
Screen USA will perform daily demonstrations in Booth 6347 at Labelexpo Americas 2012.
