RSA Introduces Modular Version of WebCRD

Press release from the issuing company

Rochester, New York, October 27, 2003 - Rochester Software Associates (RSA) announced the availability of a new modular approach to automating online print job submission and print production. WebCRD is now available as a system of interconnected modules, including WebCRD Direct, WebCRD Production, WebCRD WorkGroup, and WebCRD Pro. The newly modular WebCRD family of products provides discrete components – tightly linked for a clear upgrade path when needed – so that each WebCRD customer can implement the specific capabilities they require to increase print center productivity and customer satisfaction. WebCRD Direct provides customers immediate print center access via online print job submission of both new and reprint orders and maintains a complete order history. It also supports jobs submitted in hard copy – for centralization of all order/production activity. Powerful PDF workflow options (SurePDF client-based PDF conversion powered by Adobe PDF Transit or CentralPDF for server-based workflows) are available to ensure receipt of reliable production-ready files with the electronic job ticket. With WebCRD Direct, the print center receives print ready jobs with clear job ticket information, saving valuable time and reducing errors when compared with typical production processes, and resulting in higher user satisfaction with the finished product. WebCRD Production is a powerful browser-based print module that enables print production professionals to manage and output digital printing jobs submitted over the Internet or Intranet via WebCRD Direct. With WebCRD Production, operators submit jobs directly to print queues for streamlined print job production. WebCRD Production will automatically create a job ticket for the specific target printer, eliminating the manual step of opening the job and re-entering job ticket information in a print driver. Customers wishing to have both WebCRD Direct and WebCRD Production capabilities will choose WebCRD Pro, which delivers full functionality, from print job submission through print center management and automated production processing, with complete reporting and chargeback capabilities. “Businesses today are seeking to right-size the level of IT investment,” said Tim Kelly, Sr. VP, Rochester Software Associates. “Many organizations know they need to automate document production processes and reduce print volume leakage, and want to begin by simplifying the user task of job submission. With the modular WebCRD family of products, an organization’s first step immediately improves the business, and enables a seamless upgrade path to a fully automated workflow when they are ready to take the next step in process improvement. Those customers wishing to have full capabilities immediately can continue to do so via WebCRD Pro, the premier web submission/print production web application in the market. ” Modular versions of WebCRD are available for shipment in November 2003.
