Peerless Maximizes New Version of Adobe PostScript

EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--Oct. 20, 2003-- Peerless Systems Corporation, a provider of controllers and imaging technologies to the digital document market, announced its support of Adobe PostScript 3 version 3016 software. This relationship is another part of Peerless' broad strategy to enable original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of printers, copiers and multifunctional peripherals (MFPs) to deliver products that set the competitive standard for price and performance. Peerless has a long-term relationship with Adobe Systems. As one of the leading providers of Adobe Postscript certification and licensing services, Peerless gives OEMs a unique market opportunity to enhance the development of products that maximize Adobe PostScript 3 version 3016 software when combined with Peerless' technology, training and imaging expertise. "Peerless and Adobe have set new standards in the imaging industry for over a decade," said Steve Robinson, vice president marketing and sales for Peerless. "Adobe PostScript 3 supports OEMs, who partner with Peerless, in developing high performance, top quality color products with an early entry into the market." With Peerless' technologies and expertise, OEMs can use Adobe PostScript 3 version 3016 to support JDF (Job Definition Format) and direct printing of the latest versions of Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF), including PDF 1.3, 1.4, 1.5 and PDF/X. In addition, Adobe PostScript 3 version 3016 offers industry-leading performance and capabilities. "Adobe gave us access to this latest PostScript version early this year, so we could begin working with this state-of-the-art technology and its leading-edge performance," said Robinson. "As a result, we are now offering our full PostScript integration and customization services as well as Adobe PostScript certification services on version 3016." Over the past seven years, Peerless has provided custom porting services of Adobe PostScript for over 50 different models of printers and MFPs for OEM customers worldwide.
