(Rolling Meadows, IL October 15,2003) Today Komori America hosted an educational seminar on screening technologies in their Rolling Meadows, IL demonstration facility. The second in their series of “Survivor” seminars saw printers from around the US learning about screening applications.
Representatives from Creo, Enovation Graphics and Screen were on hand to present their screening technologies, Staccato, Co-Res, and Spekta, respectively.
“We believe that one of the most important services we can offer our customers is education. The printing market is highly competitive, and any additional services or productivity enhancements that can be incorporated into the pressroom workflow can provide a competitive edge,” said Stephan Carter, President and COO of Komori America.
Attendees also had the opportunity to see a live demonstration of the 2003 GATF InterTech Technology Award winning Lithrone S40 as part of the seminar. “Participants had the opportunity to see the advanced technology on the LS and see jobs run using both conventional AM and FM screening,” stated Doug Schardt, Komori Product Manager. “This press is truly amazing and continues to impress people at every demonstration we run.”
Jacki Hudmon, General Manager of Komori Imaging Systems, said the seminar format allowed printers to see the different screening technologies run side by side and learn about the features, advantages and benefits of each program. “The seminar format was really informative and opened up a wide range of discussion topics. We had users talk about their experience with the different screening techniques, that provided truth from the trenches. We’re very pleased with the effectiveness of this seminar,” said Hudmon.
The next Komori “Survivor Series Seminar” will be held on December 10, and will focus on color management and will highlight Komori’s line of perfector presses including the Lithrone Super Perfector, and the new Lithrone S40P and Lithrone 28P.
