Kodak Previews CREO Color Servers at GRAPH EXPO 2011

Press release from the issuing company

Chicago - GRAPH EXPO 2011 – Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta), a leading provider of advanced imaging and networking technologies for the desktop to the print shop, and Kodak will preview the newest version of Kodak's CREO Color Servers, IC-307 Print Controller, a digital front end exclusively designed for Konica Minolta's bizhub PRESS C8000 Color Digital Press, during GRAPH EXPO 2011.  The IC-307 will also support Konica Minolta's bizhub PRESS C7000/C7000P/C6000 Color Digital Presses.

The IC-307 Print Controller supports ADOBE PDF Print Engine 2, the foundation of next-generation PDF print workflows.  This capability enables quick and reliable rendering of PDF files containing complex designs and effects, including transparency layers in PDF files.  The IC-307's capabilities improve colors to take print service providers to the highest level of professional standards. Based on the Kodak Colorflow Software engine, the profiling tool enables customers to establish "destination" profiles that assure perfect colors with every paper. The tool also enables users to create profiles from external measurements.  To improve user productivity, the IC-307 eliminates the need to program individual jobs separately. With the IC-307, users can apply new job parameters to several jobs by using a predefined virtual printer.

"The IC-307 is designed to help Konica Minolta's customers streamline, and improve efficiencies within print production and achieve results faster," said Chris O'Connor, Vice President, Global Business Group for Kodak's Print On-Demand Solutions Group. "The advantages delivered by the IC-307 demonstrate how customers can use the benefits of digital printing to increase their earning potential."

"Production print customers are able to achieve overall productivity and performance enhancements with our award-winning line of bizhub PRESS color digital presses backed by CREO's latest Color Servers," said, Kevin Kern, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc.  "Featuring easy operation, built-in connectivity and workflow support, the CREO Color Servers enable our production print customers of all sizes to better drive efficiencies within their print environments and continue to count on Konica Minolta for the best in image quality."

The Konica Minolta bizhub PRESS C8000 was the first digital press to receive the IDEAlliance Digital Press Certification which validates that digital presses can consistently meet the production requirements of IDEAlliance's GRACoL color reproduction specifications. Other aspects validated in the certification process include uniformity, rub resistance, color gradations, text quality and color registration.
