RR Donnelley and Dex Media, Inc. Extend Relationship
Press release from the issuing company
CHICAGO, Feb. 4 -- RR Donnelley, the world's largest printer of telephone directories, and Dex Media, Inc., the world's largest privately owned incumbent directory publisher, have announced they have extended their relationship through 2011. Under the terms of the agreement, RR Donnelley will produce approximately 60 titles each year, totaling more than 29 million copies annually.
The exclusive, official publisher for Qwest Communications International Inc., Dex Media publishes more than 270 White and Yellow Pages directories under the Dex brand in a 14-state region. The company recently launched its new Dex market brand and graphics, both of which are being implemented as new directory editions are published throughout 2004. RR Donnelley has printed directories for Dex Media and its predecessor companies for approximately 15 years.
According to Brad Richards, senior vice president of operations at Dex Media, "Continuing our working relationship with a strong vendor partner like RR Donnelley is important to helping our company produce a competitive print product that distinguishes us in our markets. As we introduce our new Dex brand and graphics in new directory editions during 2004, it's extremely important that the production quality supports our brand design."
"As the world's largest telephone directory printer, we have the insight and knowledge to consistently meet the needs of our customers," said Susan Henricks, president, telecommunications for RR Donnelley. "We are excited to be extending our relationship with Dex Media, a relationship that is based on outstanding customer service as well as a flexible, reliable print network."
