Ramsey, N.J. – Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta), a leading provider of advanced imaging and networking technologies for the desktop to the print shop, today announced that their parent company – Konica Minolta Holdings, Inc. – has been included in the FTSE4Good Global Index by the FTSE International (FTSE) in the UK, one of the best known indices in the world for socially responsible investment (SRI) communities. This is the eighth year in a row that Konica Minolta earned this recognition.
The FTSE4Good Global is provided by FTSE, an independent company jointly owned by The Financial Times and London Stock Exchange Group. Corporations around the world are evaluated on criteria such as environment, social and corporate governance and only those which meet strict standards are included in the index to be supplied as selection reference for investors and SRI funds with extensive interest in corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability performance. That will help investors choose to invest in companies that take actions for environmental protection, develop friendly relations with stakeholders, work on internationally common human rights protection, and meet a series of globally recognized social responsibility standards.
Konica Minolta regards CSR as corporate management itself and aims at pursuing and creating "new values" sought by the society. The company's group-wide efforts, including mid- to long-term initiatives to reduce environmental impact and strengthening corporate governance, have earned the company recognition as a leader in promoting CSR on a global scale.
"Konica Minolta has taken a proactive approach to CSR through an enhanced corporate management system that addresses environmental issues, a compliance system that covers broad ethical standards, and ongoing communication with stakeholders," said Kevin Kern, Senior Vice President, Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. "Our organization's continued inclusion in the FTSE4Good Global Index reflects the positive evaluation of these efforts, and exemplifies how customers can count on Konica Minolta for an ongoing commitment to socially responsible business practices."
Besides the FTSE4Good Global Index, Konica Minolta has been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index by Dow Jones and Switzerland-based SAM (Sustainable Asset Management) Group and the Japan-based Morningstar Socially Responsible Investment Index. The company has also been recognized with SAM Sliver Class for two years in a row and selected in the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations by Canada-based Corporate Knights Inc.
Through development of innovative technologies, Konica Minolta will continue efforts to create new businesses that help global environment and contribute to sustainable development of human society.
