New mailing education certification program from the Mailing Training Institute

Press release from the issuing company

Rochester, NY - Today The Bennett Group, Inc. announced their Barcode to Bottomline Certification program developed for the direct mail / marketing industries.

"Many participants in today's direct mail industry are looking for a solution to the problem of deciphering USPS rules and regulations," states Mary Ann Bennett, President and CEO of The Bennett Group, and founder of the Mailing Training Institute. "We have uniquely developed a program I believe is the perfect partner to our Information Series for the Business of Mail introduced to the marketplace at Print09 in Chicago."

The mailing education series includes testing activity workbooks and a certification program with a cornerstone learning principle of 'When to Look · Where to Look · How to Look' with regards to postal automation and the USPS.  Once certified, business owners and mail managers can apply key concepts, capitalize on opportunities to use postal knowledge as a competitive advantage, and help protect their organizations from potential threats and liabilities.

Certification is earned when you successfully complete testing for at least five titles currently available in the Barcode to Bottomline Information Series for the Business of Mail.  This series is a first of its kind - a self-paced mailing education program contained in a set of books and CDs.  It has a constant focus on the economic factors that affect any business, large or small, that creates mail and uses the U.S. Postal Service.  Titles currently available:

- Design Your Way to Postage Savings
- Printers Expand into Mailing - 10 Steps to Success
- Direct Mail "Green" Initiatives
- Gateway to Successful Addressing
- Variable Data and Dynamic Direct Mail
- Marketing Your Mailing Services

With so many fast-paced changes being introduced to the mailing industry, it is more important than ever that you have a strong, basic understanding of critical information.  Susie Wells, Director of Educational Documentation at The Bennett Group explains, "This certification provides you with an opportunity to gauge your level of understanding by comparing your response to activity answers.  It's important that you can list and define key concepts, describe their application, point to opportunities and threats as well as be able to locate postal information and identify associated resources.  The workbooks incorporate additional activities to enthusiastically engage you with exercises which help to repeat critical information for retention. Also included is a glossary to help reference terms and acronyms when needed."
