PrintFactory and ProofMaster get major upgrade

Press release from the issuing company

Ghent, Belgium - Four Pees, an international sales and marketing organization and worldwide distributor of ProofMaster and PrintFactory, announces the immediate availability of a major upgrade to its proofing and large format production product range. This marks the first major upgrade since Four Pees took over the exclusive sales and marketing rights of these product ranges. The upgrade aims to increase the color accuracy and production efficiency of its users.

PrintFactory v4: Increased productivity, amazing results
PrintFactory v4 builds on the idea of being a RIP and, in addition, a complete solution that covers all aspects of large format production from file preparation to output and finishing.

The new PrintFactory WebFront offers print shop customers an online portal to deliver and review their files and production specifications. With this new feature, print buyers can upload their files directly into the production workflow, specify the number of copies and delivery specifications as well as review the tiling and grommet placement in an online editor. WebFront also enables print buyers to select the media on which the job should be printed, allowing customer service representatives to focus on receiving new jobs rather than reviewing existing ones.

The PrintFactory Production Editor offers the most advanced tiling available on the market. It provides full control to come up with any type of tiling, defining white space in overlaps, bleed per panel, panel numbering and can be saved as a template for fully automated tiling on jobs with the same tiling scheme. The Production Editor gives the operator the freedom to define where to print white ink or varnish on any object or on a whole job. In addition, it gives full control in a print and contour cut workflow.

PrintFactory Flux - available in March 2010 - is based on Enfocus Switch technology and provides a full automation platform with an easy to use interface to automate file reception and file routing. Its interaction with applications such as Adobe Creative Suite allows for automatic file standardization from a vast series of incoming file formats, vastly reducing the amount of errors and file make-ready time.

PrintFactory v4 has also expanded its already extensive list of supported devices. As one of the first production suites on the market, it now drives all aspects of the Roland LEC 300 and 330. Additionally, PrintFactory v4 drives the new set of Canon devices, the HP FB 7500, a series of Kongsberg cutting tables and more.

These innovations, together with previously available features (e.g. the ability to run different applications in a mixed environment on Mac and PC coupled with its powerful color engine) turn PrintFactory v4 into a complete production suite allowing print shops to significantly optimize production capacity and the profitability of every single job. ProofMaster v4: Contractual quality, amazing results
With the introduction of version 4, ProofMaster is available in two versions: ProofMaster Plus and ProofMaster Certify. ProofMaster Plus builds on the basis of contract proofing to provide a full range of tools for color and standardization, quality control and correction. ProofMaster Certify is the solution for out-of-the box standard-compliant proofing.

ProofMaster Plus features a greatly enhanced Editor. Providing a user interface in the spirit of Adobe applications, it allows for review and possible last minute corrections to incoming files. The ProofMaster Plus Editor has an internal PDF engine and takes in the most common image and graphics file formats. Its soft-proofing capability gives a color-accurate representation of the job before creating a hard copy proof to be sent to production. This completes ProofMaster Plus' quality management concept.

Also new in v4 is the Generic Driver Technology which enables ProofMaster Plus to drive any device that is installed on the system. While not guaranteeing the color accuracy on any device, it can hook up with any printer in a configuration and gain control over some aspects of the color management.

ProofMaster Plus also expands its list of supported devices and now drives, amongst others, the Canon iPF 6200 and the Epson 7900 and 9900 with SpectroProofer option.

Unique in its category, ProofMaster Certify v4 includes the latest profiles for standard-compliant proofing on the high quality range of ProofMaster Contract Proofing Papers.

Both ProofMaster Plus and ProofMaster Certify can be completed with the ProofMaster Flux option. Based on Enfocus Switch technology, this option provides a full automation platform to take in files and distribute them through production. This option will become available in March 2010.
