JohnsByrne Company hosts IDEAlliance G7 Expert training seminar

Press release from the issuing company

JohnsByrne Company, a G7 qualified printer, is pleased to announce their facility was chosen as the host site for the fall, 2009 G7 Expert training seminar. JohnsByrne Company is a leading print solutions innovator catering to a national clientele in the advertising, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, healthcare, specialty product & packaging industries. The company was qualified G7 in the spring of 2008. Since that time JohnsByrne has been a strong supporter of this precision industry color standard.

Members of the print community descended upon JohnsByrne Company in late November with the intent of being trained as G7 Certified professionals. This fall's classroom was made up of an international print community making it a truly global event. Participants traveled from countries as far away as India and China to learn what industry professionals refer to as the 'gold standard' in pressroom color calibration and control. The classroom was led by Don Hutcheson, a 40 year print veteran and founder of the G7 calibration method. Don takes his students through a rigorous training schedule that is a balanced combination of lecture and pressroom experiences. The training is capped off by a written exam to test their knowledge.

IDEAlliance is most particular when choosing a host site to facilitate their G7 training. "This is a rigorous training process that requires the host to be sufficiently prepared to effectively demonstrate the process" states Joe Fazzi, Vice President of Print Media for IDEAlliance. "JohnsByrne Company was hand-picked as a training facility due to their relentless pursuit of color consistency, accuracy and print excellence. JohnsByrne's strong track record with successful implementation of the G7/GRACoL specifications combined with their state-of-the-art production facilities made them a logical choice for our fall training".

When asked about their interest in hosting, many reasons were given. "Our people had been through the training last year but we were curious to see what else we might learn about the technology" says Jack Gustafson, COO for JohnsByrne Company. "This hosting opportunity brought us closer to the G7 methodology and gave our employees a chance to understand what value G7 brings to the pressroom and ultimately our customers". JohnsByrne Company sent five employees through the training including members of the pre press, production and sales departments. When asked if they will host future events Mr. Gustafson replied "We are honored to have been chosen as a training facility and if given the opportunity to host again we will definitely step up to the request, it was rewarding to be a part of this most important of industry training events".
