Expanded KODAK Flexographic Plate Portfolio Offers Printers Full Range of Choices
Press release from the issuing company
ROCHESTER, N.Y., May 4 -- Kodak’s portfolio of flexographic plates now covers both analog and digital offerings, providing flexo printers with increased choice when selecting a technology that best meets their specific needs.
Package printers seeking a plate solution can choose from analog KODAK FLEXCEL Flexographic Plates and the MACDERMID Printing System Digital MUST, Digital RAVE and Digital EPIC Digital Flexographic Plates.
"The need for quality flexographic printing plates continues to grow as package printers seek to meet brand owner expectations for more colorful and innovative packaging," said Dale Patterson, Segment Manager, Packaging and Product Manager, Flexo Plates, Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group. "By offering our customers a full line of flexo plates, we’re giving customers access to solutions that can drive growth from a single source."
The FLEXCEL SRM plate is a medium durometer plate that enhances ink transfer on a wide variety of substrates. The higher durometer FLEXCEL SRH plate provides outstanding solid ink coverage and superb halftone resolution. FLEXCEL SRC is a lower durometer plate, focused at the corrugated market.
The MACDERMID Digital MUST plate is a medium hardness plate for high end film and paper packaging applications. Ozone and crack resistance—and high tensile strength—combine to produce efficient long runs. The plate produces the fine highlights and wide tonal range necessary for superior print reproduction.
For printers producing packaging with demanding graphics, the high durometer of the MACDERMID Digital RAVE plate reduces dot gain in screens and minimizes banding due to press bounce. The Digital RAVE plate increases image sharpness with finer highlights and crisp text. Highly durable and reliable, Digital RAVE plates offer long runs, minimal dot wear and reduced tack.
The MACDERMID Digital EPIC plate is the only "capped" digital plate in the market. Designed to meet the needs of high end, full color process printing, the Digital EPIC plate provides excellent imaging characteristics and superior ink transfer.
