Solana Beach, CA – May 15, 2008 – Printable Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of software as a service (SaaS) web to print and personalized marketing solutions, today announced the release of the JobDirect job submission module as part of the latest version of the company's FusionPro Web product. The new JobDirect module provides server-side conversion to PDF formatting for ad hoc job submission.
Like the driver-based JobExpress module, the server-based JobDirect application provides a path for unique, one-time job submissions. Using server-side conversion to PDF, the JobDirect module requires no download or installation of specialized print drivers. It is easy to implement in even the most security-conscious environments and allows automated job submission from virtually any networked computer.
User-defined job types, e.g., documents, banners and posters, can be configured with PDF creation options such as font embedding and image compression. The JobDirect module also offers automatic conversion to PDF for more than 200 document formats including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher; Adobe Illustrator; and many popular CAD formats. In addition, the native file format is always provided to the print service provider along with the PDF file.
"Direct job submission is an essential requirement for successful web to print applications." said Coleman Kane, President and CEO, Printable Technologies. "While driver-based solutions offer end users a familiar path to professional print production, driver installation can be an issue in a protected IT environment or for novice users. The server-side conversion offered by the JobDirect job submission module allows us to provide more flexible solutions for our customers and their clients."
The JobDirect job submission module joins the ever-growing suite of FusionPro web to print products. Extensive feedback was gathered from customers to deliver the features that bring the most value to users including: customizability, dynamic use of rapidly changing corporate and pricing data, and performance and security enhancements.
