Solimar Print Director Enterprise is Optimized for Xerox FreeFlow
Press release from the issuing company
SAN DIEGO, CA, October 2, 2007 -- Solimar Systems, Inc., a leading developer of enterprise output management solutions, today announced its Solimar Print Director Enterprise (SPDE) product has been designated as "Optimized for FreeFlow" by Xerox Corporation.
Solimar's software has earned the selected Xerox Business Partner distinction by tightly integrating its output management technology with the Xerox FreeFlow Digital Workflow Collection. Xerox's FreeFlow Digital Workflow Collection operates as the "central point of control" in a digital print shop environment by automating printing and administrative operations and integrating digital printing methods with traditional business, management and production processes.
"The Solimar Print Director Enterprise system, in conjunction with Xerox's FreeFlow workflow tools, provides our customers with improved ways to increase transactional and variable data production print productivity through software automation," said Mike Salfity, Vice President, Workflow Business Unit, Xerox Production Systems Group. We welcome the addition of Solimar's robust print technology to the Xerox FreeFlow portfolio."
The Solimar Print Director Enterprise system leverages the Xerox FreeFlow Collection architecture by:
- transforming data streams into compatible Print Description Languages (PDLs) that Xerox production printers can leverage
- optimizing inefficient and highly graphical data streams to enable Xerox printers to reach rated speeds
- enhancing job management and controlling printer and finishing resources in a centralized fashion
- inserting and controlling Xerox Programming Information Format (XPIF) Job Tickets utilized by Xerox FreeFlow for automated print and finishing functionality.
"The capabilities of the SPDE system will especially provide value to Xerox customers that output large volumes of transactional documents," said Mary Ann Rowan, Solimar's Vice President of Sales & Marketing. "It enables Xerox's FreeFlow users with improved ways to control and optimize print on demand, transactional and transpromotional customer facing documents."
Xerox customers can now seamlessly leverage the strengths of Xerox's FreeFlow collection in print-on-demand environments and Solimar's transactional workflow capabilities in an integrated solution. Combining Solimar's relational database backend and Xerox FreeFlow's XPIF job tickets introduces highly flexible Automated Document Factory (ADF) workflow capabilities for controlling transpromotional marketing, finishing, document reengineering, archiving, reprints and many more facets related to production printing.
