Lightning Source UK names New Managing Director

MILTON KEYNES, UK. Feb. 4, 2008 – Lightning Source Inc., the leading provider of demand-based book manufacturing and distribution solutions to the book industry, today announced the appointment of Dave Piper as Deputy Managing Director for Lightning Source UK.

"Dave brings years of experience in leadership positions overseeing operations for Smith and Nephew, and his management style is an asset for our dynamic organization. We are excited to have him on board managing our UK facility."

As Deputy Managing Director, Mr. Piper will be responsible for day-to-day operations, as well as the development of business models for the UK facility forincreasing sales and improving overall efficiency. Mr. Piper will report to DavidTaylor, Managing Director of Lightning Source UK and Senior Vice President of Global Sales for Lightning Source Inc.

Mr. Taylor, will continue to serve as Managing Director at the Lightning Source UK branch, in addition to managing Lightning's overall global sales and marketing strategies.

"Dave has a strong strategic and operational background, which is very well-suited to manage our growing UK operation," said David Taylor. "His proven leadership will be key in continuing to grow our international business. I am delighted to have him on board."

Mr. Piper most recently served as Operations Director for Beiersdorf UK Ltd., where he developed new strategies, implemented programs which reduced costs, increased productivity and market share, and improved teamwork within the company. Prior to his role with Beiersdorf UK, Mr. Piper held several senior management positions with Smith and Nephew Consumer Products Ltd. helping to develop major brands such as Nivea and Elastoplast.
