Alonzo Printing Adds KODAK THERMAL DIRECT Non Process Plates

Press release from the issuing company

ROCHESTER, N.Y., July 23 -- Alonzo Printing eliminated processing chemicals and hazardous waste in its prepress department by adding KODAK THERMAL DIRECT Non Process Plates to its prepress workflow. The THERMAL DIRECT Non Process Plate saves Alonzo time and money associated with its previous platemaking process.
“Our previous printing plate reduced our dependency on chemistry; the THERMAL DIRECT Non Process Plate truly removes it and all hazardous waste from our prepress workflow,” said James Duffy, President, Alonzo Printing, a commercial printer in Hayward, Calif.  “We’re producing plates faster and of higher quality that perform beautifully on both our sheetfed and web presses.”
The THERMAL DIRECT Non Process Plate develops on press, eliminating the costs associated with standalone processors, including maintenance, chemistry and chemistry handling, and floor space requirements. Customers save time and reduce variability by decreasing the number of steps in prepress. In addition, THERMAL DIRECT Non Process Plates are compatible with all popular thermal computer to plate (CTP) imagers and a wide range of inks and fountain solutions.
Alonzo Printing selected the KODAK MAGNUS 800 QUANTUM Platesetter, tapping into the solution’s exceptional imaging quality and speed. The MAGNUS 800 QUANTUM Platesetter features KODAK SQUAREspot Imaging Technology and KODAK STACCATO Screening, and produces up to 40 plates per hour. New engineering and software deliver greater performance and reduced downtime. The modular design allows for advanced automation with an autoloader with a single cassette unit holding 100 plates or a multi cassette unit that can hold up to 500 plates. Alonzo chose a semi automatic MAGNUS 800 QUANTUM Platesetter featuring ContinuousLoad that allows for continuous platemaking.
