Press release from the issuing company
ROCHESTER, N.Y., Nov. 7 - Kodak's booth 1220 at Graphics Canada will feature innovations designed to help customers enhance quality output, streamline processes and expand their printing businesses. Graphics Canada, Canada's largest graphic arts and printing trade show, takes place Nov. 8-10 at the International Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
"Visitors will see Kodak's market leading technologies, products and services for customers at this year's Graphics Canada show," said Kevin Joyce, Managing Director, United States & Canada, Kodak's Graphic Communications Group. "We'll also have Kodak people on hand to talk with customers about what applications they are interested in, what business growth they can expect, and how Kodak can help them build stronger relationships with their customers."
KODAK conventional, digital, and workflow solutions for commercial printing and packaging featured at Graphics Canada include:
The KODAK NEXPRESS M700 Digital Color Press: The M700 press appeals to print providers who want to confidently enter the digital printing business with short run color, web to print, and variable data print capabilities. The four color press runs at 70 pages per minute, offers 1200 x 1200 dpi/4 bit resolution to produce a wide variety of applications, and supports a full range of substrate types (coated and uncoated with various finishes, recycled, and labels) and weights (64-300 gsm). Productivity is enhanced with its unique imaging technologies; operator replaceable components that help print providers manage image quality, maximize uptime and control costs; and the scaleable, robust KODAK NEXSTATION Front End.
KODAK Web-to-print Solutions: KODAK Web-to-print Solutions are built on proven KODAK INSITE Software and KODAK PRINERGY Workflow Systems to provide connectivity to both offset and digital print devices, including the KODAK NEXPRESS Digital Production Color Presses and additional third party print devices. Connectivity eliminates the need to re-enter job ticket information on the press, improving turnaround time, reducing errors and saving money. KODAK Web-to-print Solutions include three components: a storefront that facilitates online ordering; a variable data print application; and workflow automation with connectivity to many digital printing devices.
KODAK VERSAMARK D-series Printing Systems: KODAK VERSAMARK D-series Printing Systems for high volume digital printing offer a broad range of printing systems with a comprehensive selection of printing features and functions to print variable information on- or off-line. The D-series provides printhead widths from 1" to 8.96" with the capability to mix print widths for maximum flexibility in systems configurations. Print speeds of up to 1,000 feet per minute can be achieved while supporting 100% variable content. The D-series offers a full complement of ink options including spot colors, UV curable, security, and solvent-based technologies to satisfy most every demanding application. To highlight the versatility of the D-series product Kodak will be printing a variable postcard application by a dual printhead setup on a mailbase with camera, tracking system and divert. Showcased will be the new KODAK VERSAMARK DS5650 (3.41" 300X600 dpi) and KODAK VERSAMARK DS5340 (1" 240X480 dpi) Printheads, controlled by the KODAK VERSAMARK CS150 System Controller. Kodak will also be featuring the Adphos Near IR technology driers to show improved drying on glossy substrates.
KODAK THERMOFLEX Mid Hybrid Platesetter: The KODAK THERMOFLEX Mid Hybrid Platesetter gives printers outstanding flexibility to deliver high quality printing on a wide variety of substrates. The hybrid platesetter provides the flexibility to image offset, flexographic, letterpress plates, and film-all on one device. The device features industry leading imaging, including KODAK HYPERFLEX Ready Imaging Technology for flexo, to deliver high impact, repeatable print results. The KODAK THERMOFLEX Hybrid Platesetter is also available in Narrow format.
KODAK PRINERGY Workflow Systems: KODAK PRINERGY Workflow Systems solve key business issues by streamlining production from original file to final printed job, improving productivity, resource allocation, and, ultimately, a user's bottom line. PRINERGY Systems are modular, open and scaleable to meet specific market needs, including small or large commercial, publication, newspaper or packaging printing.
KODAK PRINERGY POWERPACK Workflow System: KODAK PRINERGY POWERPACK Workflow System, customized for packaging printers, creates a predictable and reliable manufacturing process that automates steps, reduces errors and streamlines operations. The PRINERGY POWERPACK Workflow System delivers specialized packaging prepress tools needed to build and preflight packaging files. It also includes a job management feature to track jobs from receipt of files through to proofing, approval and platemaking. PRINERGY POWERPACK Workflow System features high resolution screening (KODAK STACCATO, flexographic and conventional AM technology), support for KODAK SPOTLESS Printing Solution, and Kodak's DotShop plug-in for ACROBAT software to select, customize and control screening options.
At the PrintAction Seminars on Thursday, Nov. 8, Steven Powell, General Manager and Director, Security Solutions, Eastman Kodak Company, will discuss Kodak's new security solutions that offer print service providers simple and effective methods for anticounterfeiting.
Graphics Canada also marks the first Canadian trade show since the announcement of the new reseller agreement with SPICERS and Coast Paper, divisions of PaperlinX Canada Limited.
