Press release from the issuing company

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Feb. 12 — The Scan Group adds web to print, variable data, short run color and other digital printing capabilities with its new KODAK NEXPRESS 2100 Plus Digital Production Color Press. The Waukesha, Wis., company has grown steadily over the past 24 years from a single prepress and film facility to a full service creative and production firm with three locations. A one stop shop for agencies and corporate customers, The Scan Group provides design, photography, illustration, composition, web, prepress, large format, digital asset, print, finishing and mailing solutions. “The NEXPRESS 2100 Plus press opens up an entire new category of offerings for our customers, especially in direct mail, and further strengthens our position as a comprehensive marketing services provider,” said David L. Patzer, President, The Scan Group. “With the NEXPRESS 2100 Plus press, we see tremendous opportunities to expand our business in response to growing demand for shorter run color and variable data printing.” With the installation, The Scan Group serves as the first print provider in the Milwaukee area to join the KODAK MARKETMOVER Network powered by Four51. An innovative commerce networking service, the MARKETMOVER Network generates demand for printing services by facilitating a seamless connection between companies that require print services and those that deliver such services. The Scan Group will initially offer web to print services, enabling customers to access templates online and create custom communications materials with variable data for printing on the NEXPRESS press, as part of the MARKETMOVER Network. The NEXPRESS 2100 Plus press meets a variety of needs from entry level to very high volume environments. Customers are able to upgrade presses as they grow their businesses with options to select desired paper capacity, increase processing capability, and add a fifth imaging unit for delivery of spot color, watermarking and protective coating with the GATF InterTech Award winning KODAK NEXPRESS Fifth Imaging Unit Solutions. The fifth imaging unit solutions also enable high impact glossing in conjunction with the KODAK NEXGLOSSER Glossing Unit. The booklet maker for KODAK NEXPRESS Digital Production Color Presses is available inline or offline for collating, stitching, folding, trimming, and creating standard or square back booklets of up to 100 pages. Founded in 1983, The Scan Group, Inc., is a full service creative and production group, providing one cohesive source for design: photography, illustration, web, pre press, large format, digital asset, lithographic print, digital print, variable data print, finishing and mailing services.
