Kodak Showcases the Power of Innovation at Graph Expo

Press release from the issuing company

CHICAGO, Oct. 15 -- The many facets of KODAK innovation—and ways in which print providers can utilize each to drive growth—are on display in booth #400 at Graph Expo and Converting Expo. “Print providers require inventive solutions that encompass much more than the latest technologies,” said Kevin Joyce, Managing Director, United States and Canada Region, Vice President, Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group. “At Graph Expo, Kodak highlights innovative approaches in categories such as products, business development services, and streamlined business management.” To kick off Graph Expo 2006, Kodak announces the KODAK MARKETMOVER Network, a new service that connects print providers to an expanded pool of marketers who need printing services. The unique commerce networking service will help printers grow at the same time that it makes it easier for marketers to leverage new applications, such as web to print, to maximize their return on investment. Kodak’s booth at Graph Expo includes new, enhanced and established digital printing, inkjet printing, thermal computer to plate, color proofing and workflow solutions. To maximize efficiencies through automating processes in digital, conventional and hybrid printing systems, the exhibit features KODAK Unified Workflow solutions. Benefits to print service providers of a unified workflow include optimizing operations and adding services. New Products Solutions introduced at Graph Expo include: - The next generation KODAK DIGIMASTER EX digital production system, which comes in four speeds: DIGIMASTER EX110 (110 ppm), EX125 (125 ppm), EX138—a new speed model to address a critical production space—and EX150 (150 ppm). - KODAK VERSAMARK DS5340 and KODAK VERSAMARK DS5222 inkjet printing systems, which feature higher data throughput and enhanced connectivity. - The KODAK PRINERGY workflow system, version 4, for unprecedented flexibility to customize, manage, and automate conventional and digital print workflows will be previewed at Graph Expo. As part of the technology demonstration, Kodak will also highlight how the new ADOBE PDF Print Engine technology and the ADOBE FLEX development environment helped Kodak improve the newest PRINERGY system release. - KODAK PROFILE WIZARD 4.0 MIO color management software, which utilizes the latest color management technology to give creative and prepress professionals the power to maintain color accuracy from device to device. PROFILE WIZARD 4.0 software delivers optimized ICC DeviceLink profiles, enhanced ICC profiling and additional profile editing tools. - The KODAK COLORFLOW technology architecture for seamlessly communicating, controlling, and confirming color across multiple devices through enhanced connectivity, improved predictability and the elimination of errors. Other new solutions include the KODAK NEXPRESS Photo Bundle, which features an easy to implement set of components that helps photofinishers and graphic communications providers create valuable photo services products. The KODAK MAGNUS 800 platesetter is shown for the first time in North America at Graph Expo. Enhancements and Demonstrations Products with new enhancements at Graph Expo include the III series of KODAK TRENDSETTER platesetters, which features improved productivity, reliability, ease of use, remote support and faster file processing. Upgrades include a faster speed for the KODAK TRENDSETTER 400 III QUANTUM platesetter V-speed at 43 plates per hour standard and 50 plates per hour with automation, and 5 percent faster speeds for the KODAK TRENDSETTER 800 III platesetter X-speed. Other new features include Print Console software with new user interface and online help, 6 page computer to plate (CTP) specifications for the TRENDSETTER 400 III QUANTUM platesetter, improved minimum plate size support, and new GMCE electronics with Gigabit Ethernet workstation connectivity, the new electronics platform for all KODAK CTP devices. The KODAK MAGNUS 400 platesetter features faster speed and now reaches 32 plates per hour. The MAGNUS 400 platesetter is shown with KODAK THERMAL DIRECT non process printing plates as part of a complete CTP solution. The KODAK MAGNUS VLF platesetter features increased imaging speeds and a new in-line punch option. The MAGNUS VLF platesetter’s V-speed imaging and dual plate option now can achieve up to 39 (40.5 in.) plates per hour, while the MAGNUS VLF platesetter’s F-speed imaging and dual plate option can achieve up to 20.6 plates per hour. The integrated punch option reduces operator intervention, decreasing the number of errors caused by manual plate handling, and saves valuable floor space. KODAK Unified Workflow solutions have been extended to encompass web to print solutions, based on KODAK INSITE and PRINERGY technologies. It will be introduced as a technology demonstration at Graph Expo. KODAK products are backed by KODAK Service and Support, Kodak’s worldwide service organization.
