Eglomise Designs Bolsters Short Run Color Capabilities with KODAK NEXPRESS 2100

Press release from the issuing company

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Aug. 14 - Eglomisé Designs, Inc., a leader in the development of fine college and university gifts for four decades, recently purchased a KODAK NEXPRESS 2100 digital production color press to strengthen and bring all short run, on demand printing capabilities in house. Prior to the installation, Eglomisé outsourced its digital color printing because of issues with its previous equipment’s ability to handle longer runs. “We are a growing business focusing our expertise and services in the academic niche,” said Rene Dion, Jr., General Manager at Eglomisé Designs. “Purchasing the NEXPRESS 2100 press has made us more marketable to customers looking for personalized gifts. What was once subcontracted out to local printers is now being handled in house, enabling us to produce quality artwork and meet customer demands for quick turnaround times. It is a ‘win win’ situation for all — we add efficiencies to our operation and customers receive quality work, faster.” Established in 1965, Eglomisé Designs is a manufacturer of sophisticated gifts for special occasions. Over the years, Eglomisé has formed the art of producing unique applications, ranging from an array of mirrors, pictures and glass photo frames to desk boxes, paperweights and stationery, featuring historic views of several hundred American colleges and universities. Eglomisé prints the landscape images on the NEXPRESS 2100 press, and has future plans to set up the operation for web to print capabilities with colleges and universities. The KODAK NEXPRESS 2100 digital production color press is a high volume press that meets the growing need for fast turnaround short run color work, as well as variable data print applications associated with one to one marketing applications. The KODAK NEXPRESS fifth imaging unit solution further expands the press’s available color gamut, enabling applications that require inline integration of specific PANTONE colors. The fifth imaging solution also enables inline coating for applications requiring greater durability, such as direct mail. All GCG equipment is backed by KODAK Service & Support, Kodak Graphic Communications Group’s worldwide service organization, named Best Support Organization at the 2006 International Business Awards. KODAK Service & Support gives customers access to more than 3000 professionals in 120 countries qualified to control cost, maximize productivity and minimize business risk.
