KODAK Color Digital Printing Solutions Help Pacific Printing and Fulfillment Grow Digital Print Business and Expand Services

Press release from the issuing company

ROCHESTER, N.Y., July 31-Pacific Printing and Fulfillment, Inc. (PPFI), a print and fulfillment company in California, recently purchased its third KODAK NEXPRESS 2100 digital production color press and its first KODAK NEXPRESS fifth imaging unit to increase its services to include inline coating and an expanded color gamut range to better serve customers with web to print and variable data processing jobs. The recent installation exceeded PPFI's expectations from a throughput and quality perspective. "We are producing more customized materials requiring more response starts with bold colors and bright images for maximum impact," said Todd Shur, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, PPFI. "We are also seeing more customers looking for coating and glossing solutions to deliver high impact communications that stand apart from their competitors'. Adding a third NEXPRESS 2100 press and the fifth imaging unit has allowed us to meet these growing demands and offer more to our customers, faster and better than the competition." The NEXPRESS 2100 press is a high volume press that meets the growing need for fast turnaround short run color work, as well as variable data print applications associated with one to one marketing applications. Customers are able to upgrade presses as they grow their businesses with options to select desired business paper capacity, increase processing capability, and add a fifth imaging unit. The KODAK NEXPRESS fifth imaging unit further expands the press's available color gamut, enabling applications that require inline integration of specific PANTONE colors. The fifth imaging unit also enables inline coating for applications requiring greater durability, such as direct mail. "KODAK MARKETMOVER business development services works closely with us to promote the advantages of digital printing," said Shur. "As a result, we are creating more business opportunities for our company by offering our customers more valuable solutions." In addition to the NEXPRESS 2100 presses, PPFI also incorporates the KODAK DIRECTPRESS 5634 DI digital offset press in its overall workflow. Combining digital with direct image offset printing creates a blended production environment that helps PPFI better meet its customers' needs for both short run color and variable data jobs. "Having both digital and direct imaging presses allows us to match up our customers' needs with the appropriate technology, giving them more value and allowing us to operate more efficiently," said Shur. Established in 1993, PPFI is full service commercial printing and fulfillment company based in Redwood City, Calif. An $8 million operation with over 60 employees, PPFI services comprise the full spectrum of printing, from scanning and prepress to proofing, large format output, offset and digital production. PPFI also provides complete finishing and fulfillment services.
