Turnkey Marketing Utilizes KODAK Color Digital Printing Solutions to Better Serve Customers in Web to Print Environment

Press release from the issuing company

ROCHESTER, N.Y., July 17 -- Before purchasing a KODAK NEXPRESS 2100 Plus digital production color press earlier this year, Turnkey Marketing in Minneapolis would offset print four color direct mail pieces and then do basic personalization in black by sending the pieces back through a laser printer. Now the firm can offer a full range of color Variable Data Printing (VDP) solutions to its Fortune 1000 customers. “The quality of output from the NEXPRESS 2100 Plus press is comparable to — and in some applications even better than — offset. We can personalize everything in the piece, including four color photographs, and do cost efficient runs from 500 pieces up to large jobs,” said Efrain Tapia, Vice President of Operations at Turnkey Marketing. “Sophisticated marketers are increasingly turning to VDP and looking for one to one marketing opportunities to reach the best customers,” said Michael K. Howard, Vice President, Marketing, Digital Printing Solutions, Kodak. “The speed, reliability and flexibility of NEXPRESS color digital presses are creating new revenue streams for our customers.” According to Frank Pikala, President of Turnkey Marketing, one of the major advantages VDP offers to his company’s customers is the ability to change text and images, and test various approaches on small runs before launching major direct marketing campaigns. “You can use the NEXPRESS 2100 Plus press to fine tune your message and test the effectiveness of offers before making a final commitment to a campaign,” Pikala said. “We recently produced a home mortgage campaign for a bank that had different photography and alternative offers for four different demographic groups. The bank reported they experienced a measurable lift in response rates over previous campaigns.” Turnkey Marketing has built a number of customized web to print interfaces for larger clients but decided to utilize KODAK NEXTREME workflow software so that small to medium size customers could take advantage of the efficiencies of web to print. “NEXTREME software is the perfect solution for many customers where a customized exchange interface is too costly to develop,” Pikala said. Founded five years ago, Turnkey Marketing offers a range of services to clients, such as website development and hosting, database management, fulfillment and inventory control, digital asset management, call center and lettershop, to go along with offset and digital printing. The KODAK NEXPRESS 2100 Plus digital production color press meets a variety of needs from entry level to very high volume environments. Customers are able to upgrade presses as they grow their businesses with options to select desired paper capacity, increase processing capability, and add a fifth imaging unit for delivery of spot color, watermarking and protective coating with the GATF InterTech Award winning KODAK NEXPRESS fifth imaging unit solutions. The fifth imaging unit solutions also enable high impact glossing in conjunction with the KODAK NEXGLOSSER glossing unit.
