Fry Communications Uses KODAK PressProof Software to Bring Monitor Proofing's Color Accuracy and Time Savings into the Pressroom

Press release from the issuing company

PHILADELPHIA, May 16 -- New KODAK PressProof software extends the benefits of monitor proofing to the pressroom. PressProof software employs SWOP certified KODAK MATCHPRINT Virtual Proofing technology to provide accurate and consistent color guidance by displaying a proof for viewing on qualified LCD monitors. PressProof software allows press operators to view the same color accurate proof viewed by agencies, designers, prepress professionals, publishers, and others involved in the creative and print production processes. PressProof software is designed specifically for the pressroom. Its fast and intuitive user interface allows operators to easily select and display the appropriate surface for comparison with press samples. PressProof software features such as caching and read-ahead ensure that proofs are readily available. “Fry Communications is committed to implementing solutions that provide streamlined, cost-effective results into our digital workflows. The addition of PressProof software confirmed this commitment,” said Ursula Koons, PrePress Technical Specialist Manager, Fry Communications. “Responding to customer demand we realized we needed to implement a monitor proofing system into our pressrooms. PressProof software has proven to be a valuable tool in providing our pressrooms with consistent color expectations. PressProof software has enabled us to fulfill our customer commitments while providing our pressroom with easy to use tools that tie directly into our prepress environment." PressProof software integrates with the KODAK PRINERGY workflow system, eliminating the need to manage separate proofing and prepress production. It can also operate as an extension of KODAK InSite software, which enables Internet-based communication among all participants in the print content and production process. PressProof software also functions as a standalone configuration for use with KODAK PRINERGY Evo, KODAK BRISQUE or other third party workflows. “PressProof software allows commercial and publication printers to offer their customers a complete monitor proofing workflow, spanning content creation to press-side proofs on monitors, which makes it easy and efficient to ensure color accuracy, make revisions, expedite approvals and meet tight deadlines,” said Stan Coleman, General Manager, Unified Workflow, Kodak's Graphic Communications Group. “By serving as an integral part of Kodak's unified workflow, PressProof software can help print providers further streamline operations.” PressProof software can operate on either the EIZO COLOREDGE 21" or the APPLE Cinema Display LCD monitors.
