New 250 fpm KODAK VERSAMARK VT3000 Inkjet System Opens TransPromo Printing Market to Mid Volume Print Operations

Press release from the issuing company

PHILADELPHIA, May 16 -- Mid volume print operations can capture the exploding opportunity in variable data and color in TransPromo printing with the newest addition to the KODAK VERSAMARK VT3000 printing system family. Introduced at AIIM ON DEMAND, the 250 feet per minute (fpm) system delivers throughput speeds of up to 1,090 impressions per minute, and provides a new point of entry to the quality and reliability of the KODAK VERSAMARK V-Series printing systems. "V-Series systems can grow as our customers' business needs evolve. With this option in the VT3000 lineup, an entirely new group of mid volume service bureaus, corporate print operations, direct mail houses, and commercial printers have an affordable color solution with the speed and quality they need," said Ron Gilboa, Vice President, Marketing, Kodak Versamark. "These print providers can now deliver effective communications that blend their transaction and promotional information into full color integrated TransPromo customer communications. The VT3000 printing system can be upgraded to higher speeds, with no change in floor space. It is flexible and modular, so users have a simple upgrade path as their volumes grow or business needs change." The new entry level VT3000 printer joins the VT3000 systems currently available at 350 fpm and 500 fpm. The VT3000 product line offers a choice of possible configurations to meet a wide range of printing needs, from simple monochrome printing to full color duplex printing. With its modular design, each VT3000 system provides the flexibility to upgrade capability from one configuration to the next. "The digital color revolution is well underway and is now moving into TransPromo applications. In the high end of the production color market where products like the VT3000 are active, we are predicting print volume growth of more than 60 percent," said Charles A. Pesko, Managing Director, InfoTrends. "This growth is driven in large part by high volume devices that are capable of meeting customers' needs for low operating costs in a range of monochrome, spot and process color applications." Available for immediate shipment worldwide, the 250 fpm VT3000 system features a compact footprint and a variety of finishing options, including roll to roll, perforating and punching, selective perforation, fanfold, cut sheet, sheet/stack, slit/merge/stack, or any combination.
