Theatre Publications/Pisani Printing Installs Komori Press in New Santa Clara Facility

Press release from the issuing company

Rolling Meadows, IL, March 14, 2006 -- Komori America Corporation, a premier manufacturer of sheetfed and web offset printing presses, today announced that Theatre Publications / Pisani Printing, recently installed a Komori five-color Lithrone 28 (NL528) with coater in its new Santa Clara print facility. A premier Northern California commercial printer whose niche is printing glossy program magazines that serve the elite performing arts industry, Theatre Publications / Pisani Printing is now able to print closer to opening nights by allowing for tighter deadlines. The new NL528 has given it the ability to have faster turnarounds for all commercial clients, especially the Arts groups, which have frequent last minute cast and show changes. Theatre Publications / Pisani Printings' discerning performing arts and other designer/commercial clients benefit from the top quality, fast turnaround and competitive pricing the NL528 allows. Key drivers in the selection of the NL528 were the significant enhancements it offers. These include the print density control with spectrodensitometry that digitally controls densities and color matching; the versatile coating system that permits both aqueous and UV coating; and the intuitive inking software that allows for printing standardization and impressive color reproduction. Additionally, Theatre Publications / Pisani Printing is taking advantage of the Komori Management System, KMS-IV that provides a digital architecture for managing scheduling, production data and maintenance information for the press. In 2005, Theatre Publications / Pisani Printing moved to a larger facility in Santa Clara, which allowed for the installation of new, larger state-of-the-art equipment including the NL528. Theatre Publications / Pisani Printing attributes the addition of these enhancements to significantly decreasing its set-up time and increasing its turnaround time by at least 25 percent. "The coater has changed the way we do business. We have been able to take on a larger client base and produce larger, longer runs in about half the time as before. We chose the Komori NL528 over competitive presses because of our long and positive history with Komori," said Mike Pisani, Sr., president, Theatre Publications / Pisani Printing. "We have always enjoyed the outstanding support from Komori in the past. From sales and service to tech and financial support to press performance-our experience with Komori has been excellent. Our customers are loving the quality look and are enjoying the fast press okays. They feel they have a real sense of control over color now." "Theatre Publications / Pisani Printing has been a valued client for many years," said Paul Peyrebrune, vice president of sales for Komori's Western Region. "We are pleased the Komori NL528 is adding value in a variety of ways. That is the essence of the Komori experience. Komori insists on a balance of the press and the people, ensuring every customer is satisfied."
