Fujifilm Expands Taskero Universe Into Pressroom

Press release from the issuing company

VALHALLA, N.Y. (May 29, 2008) – FUJIFILM Corporation is expanding the reach of its Taskero Universe – a suite of diagnostic and quality control tools – into the pressroom, giving printers an even greater ability to control their color and their operations.

In an effort to help printers operate more efficiently and to more consistently deliver what their customers need, Fujifilm developed Taskero Universe and is now taking it from prepress and into the pressroom, aiming to put printers in control of their operations and confirm color across a number of output devices and locations.

“Taskero Universe has been both successful and very effective in the prepress area and it’s logical to now move into the pressroom,” said Don Schroeder, director of solutions development for FUJIFILM Graphic Systems U.S.A., Inc. “Monitoring and controlling the various processes in a printing facility – from prepress through the pressroom – is critical for printing efficiently and profitably. Taskero Universe gives them the ability to do that.”

Fujifilm has teamed up with a number of industry technology partners to expand the breadth of Taskero Universe. These partners include X-Rite, TECHKON, CGS, Rampage, Glunz & Jensen and GMI.

X-Rite and TECHKON supply scanning systems for press-side color control, meaning printers can take immediate reads of the sheets coming off of the press and tie it to the conditions on press as well as in the prepress area. The blend of these leading products, combined with Fujifilm Taskero Universe, means printers can enjoy the utmost control of their operations, across multiple devices and multiple locations by effectively viewing their production quality and efficiency from anywhere in the world with the Taskero Universe web-enabled monitoring and analysis tools.

Taskero Universe will be demonstrated live at drupa 2008 at the Fujifilm booth (Stand A25, Hall 8B), as well at the CGS (Stand A40, Hall 8B). For more information, please visit Fujifilm at drupa 2008 or on the web at www.fujifilmgs.com.
