Creo Print On Demand Solutions Launches New HP INDIGO Production Stream Server for Unified Offset and Digital Workflows at IPEX 2006

Press release from the issuing company

Media Week for IPEX 2006, London, UK (January 25, 2006) - At IPEX 2006, Creo Print On-Demand Solutions (PODS) Group, a unit of Kodak's Graphic Communications Group, will launch a new digital colour server that drives the HP INDIGO line of presses. The new HP INDIGO Production Stream Server Powered by Creo provides HP INDIGO press customers with a professional workflow, extended variable data printing (VDP) capabilities, and superb image quality. The Production Stream Server is a powerful digital colour server designed exclusively for HP with proprietary CREO PODS technology that initially supports the HP INDIGO press 5000 and the HP INDIGO press 3050. The HP INDIGO-CREO solution is a professional workflow for increased productivity, faster turnaround time, and outstanding image and colour quality. The Creo PODS Group brings many years of experience defining and integrating workflows that link offset and digital printing. The unified workflow of the Production Stream Server delivers fast, efficient routing of jobs from offset to digital printing for users of KODAK PRINERGY, BRISQUE and InSite software workflows. The HP INDIGO Production Stream Server Powered by Creo is RoHS compliant, as required by European regulations. ”We are very pleased that HP chose Creo to develop the Production Stream Server. It offers HP INDIGO press customers the opportunity to easily integrate with traditional offset commercial printers and expand their digital print volume,” said Ronen Cohen, General Manager, Creo Print On-Demand Solutions Group. “Work is underway to support additional HP INDIGO digital presses with this flexible solution. It provides access to a wider range of variable data printing markets through its support of extensive VDP formats.” Spot Colour Support for Digital Printing The Production Stream Server supports HP INDIGO's proprietary INDICHROME printing system that allows seven-colour printing by adding three pre-mixed colour inks to the standard CMYK colours for each print job. These spot colours can be used for corporate colours or packaging applications. With the Production Stream Server and INDICHROME imaging, HP customers can achieve unmatched colour quality from their presses. The Production Stream Server is the first third-party solution to support seven-colour printing. With its many advanced offerings, such as the high-speed RIP, imposition, colour management, trapping, and anti-aliasing through an easy-to-use Graphical User Interface, the Production Stream Server is a high-value investment. The Production Stream Server offers two powerful options for HP INDIGO presses. The Multi-Press Workflow Package enables a single Production Stream Server to run two HP INDIGO presses. This option is ideal for current HP Indigo press owners who would like to add a CREO digital print workflow to their print shop at an affordable price. See CREO POD Solutions at the HP Stand, # 04-B25, at IPEX 2006, April 4-11, 2006, in Birmingham, UK.
