RR Donnelley Premedia Technologies Significantly Expands Photography Studios

Press release from the issuing company

CHICAGO, June 1 -- R. R. Donnelley & Sons Company today announced that RR Donnelley Premedia Technologies has increased its photography studio space to meet customer demand nationwide. The increase nearly doubles the space of the company's Studio W26 in New York and of Omega Studios in Chicago. "RR Donnelley is one of the leading providers of fashion and product photography in North America," said Mary Lee Schneider, President of RR Donnelley Premedia Technologies. "We expanded in response to demand from customers who need high-quality photography, color services and digital asset management tools for images that will be used in catalogs, on web sites and in other media." The expansion of Studio W26 in New York included an 80 percent increase in shooting space, enabling the studio to accommodate up to five bays for fashion photography or up to 20 bays for tabletop photography. The expansion also included space for equipment and merchandise storage. The expansion in Chicago more than doubled the studio space at RR Donnelley's Omega Studios facility in suburban Elgin. After the build-out, the facility has seven camera bays and 30,000 square feet of space, with room for additional growth. These expansions are in addition to the recently announced agreement with SandBox Studios in San Francisco and the re-launch of Omega Studios in Dallas. RR Donnelley also provides photography services in Seattle, Wash., and Portland, Ore., through the company's wholly owned Iridio Photography studios.
