EFI Hagen System Selected by Cenveo as Standard Platform for 38 Plants

Press release from the issuing company

FOSTER CITY, Calif.--Feb. 8, 2005-- EFI, the world leader in digital imaging and print management solutions for commercial and enterprise printing, today announced that Cenveo(TM), Inc. (NYSE: CVO - News), one of North America's leading providers of visual communications with one-stop services from design through fulfillment, has selected EFI Hagen OA(TM) as the standard print management system for its 38 commercial print facilities. With over 80 facilities across North America, Cenveo is a high-quality commercial printer and provider of visual communications, the largest envelope manufacturer, and a major provider of documents and labels for office applications. Cenveo is installing the Hagen OA system as the common internal operating platform for all commercial printing locations to ensure consistent plant management and quality of work. Ten facilities are live today, with the remainder expected to be installed throughout 2005 and early 2006. EFI Hagen OA integrates a robust and advanced accounting package with high-end applications for estimating, job management, scheduling, purchasing, inventory and fulfillment, allowing users to collect, share, analyze and respond to information in real time. Hagen Features and Hosted Database Produce Impressive Results Some Cenveo facilities have been using Hagen since 1998, but in 2002 the company decided to step-back and look at ways to standardize many business practices, including the management of Hagen. A dedicated team conducted process audits and evaluations and decided to administer Hagen from a hosted, centralized database. "The decision to use Hagen was clear from the start - its superior technology foundation, performance and usability made it the best choice for us," said Brett Flora, executive director of IT for Cenveo. "What we gained by moving to a hosted model is the ability to standardize production and accounting processes from plant to plant. "Cenveo has already realized key benefits from this centralized structure, including better reporting because we have access to a broader set of data, an easier time installing upgrades, and the ability to call on a wider pool of talent since everyone knows how to use the same applications," continued Flora. Matt Mitchell, vice president and CIO, is especially pleased with the greater reporting functionality. "Centralized reporting means that we can more quickly detect problems and react faster to fix them - we only have to turn one knob, not 30," he said. In addition, the company can easily meet customer demands. "We can now fulfill customer needs across any plant with available capacity, since they all have consistent systems based on the Hagen platform," said Mitchell. "Cenveo is the first EFI customer to deploy Hagen in a centralized fashion to so many facilities," said Marc Olin, Vice President/General Manager, EFI Commercial Print Systems. "They have worked diligently to get the most out of the MIS system, and are seeing impressive results already. We look forward to supporting Cenveo in the additional plant installations and to being a part of their continued success."
