Graph Expo Affirms Strength Of KPG's Digital And Business Solutions

Press release from the issuing company

Norwalk, Connecticut, USA — Customers at Graph Expo made major investments in digital solutions with Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG), confirming the Company’s standing as a leading provider of complete business solutions. Strong interest in KPG’s portfolio of computer-to-plate (CtP), color management, monitor and remote proofing, digital printing, and data storage solutions boosted sales beyond expectations for the entire show. KPG sales finished the show up over 25 percent over last year’s Graph Expo. “Based on our success at Graph Expo, it’s safe to say that our customers appreciate our commitment to helping them take advantage of new opportunities for growth,” said Andrew Copley, President, KPG Americas. “All of our solutions, from CtP to monitor proofing to digital printing, are designed to help our customers exceed their customers’ expectations.” The first product from KPG’s partnership with Artwork Systems Groups NV, the Artwork Systems Nexus V8 Workflow with KPG color management tools, and RealTimeProof online proofing technology, was a sales success at Graph Expo. Introduced just four months after the KPG/Artwork Systems Group NV partnership was announced at drupa, KPG integrates this workflow into its CtP and proofing solutions including KPG co-branded Screen PlateRite platesetters, the KPG Matchprint ProofPro Inkjet Proofing System, and the Kodak Approval Digital Halftone Proofing System. Customers and visitors were impressed with KPG’s unique demonstration of its color management capabilities. With a professional photographer onsite, KPG illustrated its ability to control color across multiple output devices and different workflows by sending a new image every two hours to a variety of digital proofing and printing devices throughout the booth, including the Matchprint Virtual Proofing System – LCD (KPG’s second-generation, color critical monitor proofing technology), the KPG DirectPress 5634 DI Press, the Kodak Approval NX Proofing System, the KPG Matchprint ProofPro Inkjet Proofing System, the Canon CLC 1180 and 5100 digital color printers, and the Kodak NexPress 2100 digital production color press. Ten days after announcing its worldwide agreement with NexPress Solutions, Inc. to sell NexPress and Digimaster products on a worldwide basis, KPG took its first order for a NexPress 2100 press. In addition, KPG sold dozens of digital printing and proofing equipment including the KPG DirectPress 5634 and DirectPress 5334 DI Systems, Kodak Approval Digital Halftone Proofing Systems, KPG co-branded Screen PlateRite platesetters and Canon digital printing devices.
