Creo Veris Proofer Performance at IPA Proofing RoundUP
Press release from the issuing company
VANCOUVER, BC, CANADA -- July 6, 2004 -- Creo is pleased to announce the excellent performance of the Veris proofer at the IPA Color Proofing RoundUP II, held June 8-9 in Chicago, IL. The Creo Veris proofer with the Prinergy workflow management system rated the highest standing in the visual evaluation.
Each of the 27 entries were 'blind entries' for the panel of judges that included color proofing experts from large publications, trade shops and printing companies. The entries were evaluated on RIP performance, color quality and spot color reproduction. The Creo Veris proofer ranked among the top three entries in all categories.
The color proofing experts evaluated the visual correlation of proofs to images on GRACoL (General Requirements for Applications in Commercial Offset Lithography) Press Sheets. The entries were evaluated separately on colorimetric measurement (Lab delta-E) correlation to CGATS-DTR004 reference characterization. Proofers were also judged on the production of specialized test pages to assess RIP speed, overprint correctness, spot-color, and color management support.
An integral part of the Veris proofer solution, the Prinergy 2.2 workflow management system, with its proven Creo Color Management Engine, successfully handled all the elements in the test files for color management and RIP functionality. As a result, the Veris-Prinergy solution demonstrated exceptional file processing performance, high proof quality and overall color match to target.
