James Hammer Nominated for LPIA Hall of Fame

Pittsburgh, PA, July 1, 2004— James E. Hammer, President & CEO of Hammer Lithograph Corporation, has been nominated to the LPIA Hall of Fame. Mr. Hammer will be inducted during the 2004 LPIA Fall Management Conference October 23-26, 2004 at the Silverado Country Club & Golf Resort in Napa, California. Sponsored by the Label Printing Industries of America (LPIA), this award is dedicated to the spirit of those industry pioneers whose hard work and determination have created a vibrant, growing and changing industry. It is conferred on a label printing executive – either printer or supplier- who has reached an unsurpassed level of excellence and achievement in the industry. Mr. Hammer graduated Drake College, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, earning a degree in Business Administration and Marketing. He began his career at Hammer Lithograph in Sales and Customer Service, and was promoted to Vice-President in 1975 then President & CEO in 1983. His professional activities include membership in World Presidents Organization, and has served as President of the National Label Printing Industries of America. A long-standing supporter of charities, Mr. Hammer has been active with he National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, March of Dimes, Junior Achievement, Camp Good Days and Special Times, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International, and the Rochester Diabetes Association Summer Camp for Kids. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Mary Cariola Children’s Center and chairs the Governance Committee. Founded in 1912 as the Genesee Valley Lithographic Company, the company since then has expanded its capabilities to include cut & stack labels for the food and beverage industries, puzzles, boxwraps and point of purchase materials for consumer products. Hammer also operates J. MacKenzie, Ltd. and New Frontier Packaging as wholly owned subsidiaries. New Frontier Packaging produces roll fed UV flexographic pressure sensitive labels, wrap labels and form & fill labels for consumer products while J. MacKenzie, Ltd. provides on-demand paper sheeting and converting. Hammer Lithograph has annual sales in excess of $50 million.
