Press release from the issuing company
STAMFORD, Conn., June 17 -- Pitney Bowes Management Services Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Pitney Bowes Inc. has signed a contract, valued at $18 million dollars, to provide the U.S. Department of Justice's (DOJ) Executive Office, Environmental and Natural Resource Division with high volume mail and document management solutions for up to five years. "Pitney Bowes Management Services is an experienced, professional outsourcing company that currently provides similar services to 163 law firms in the U.S. and Canada, including the top 33 law firms in the country," stated Sue Lattin, DOJ's Contracting Officer Technical Representative. "PBMS' broad understanding of legal processes and applications was a key factor in our decision to make them our outsourcing partner. We are confident that this expertise will deliver long term value, and additional effectiveness and efficiency in our document management processes."
PBMS will introduce Pitney Bowes on the Desk, an integrated web-portal tool that provides information on PBMS services and a vehicle for end-users to communicate with PBMS service centers or Document Solution Centers. In addition, PBMS will use its proprietary Arrival Track and Trace solution to record and manage package delivery throughout the organization.
"In today's competitive marketplace, service providers must offer clients more than cost savings alone," stated Karen Garrison, president, Pitney Bowes Management Services. "World class organizations like Pitney Bowes must: be committed to their market spaces; demonstrate an ability and have the flexibility to provide solutions for a client's ever changing and complex business processes; and have a proven reporting and operational strategy that focuses on continued process improvement."
