The products are being shown for the first time at Graph Expo 2002 in Chicago. Best remote proofing products are offered at two levels—incorporated in Best Colorproof™, Best Screenproof™, Best Photoexposure™, and Best ARTmosphere™ to permit outputting proofs remotely, and as an independent product, Best Remoteproof™. Best Remoteproof, when used with the Best Eye spectrophotometer, permits remote verification and certification of color fidelity. To use Best Remoteproof™, the sender saves the color management settings as JDF, outputs the proof of JDF data, measures the proof colormetrically using the Best Eye spectrophotometer, and transmits the PDF, JDF, profile and linearization files to the remote location. At the remote site, the information is output on a local color printer, measured using another Best Eye spectrophotometer, at which point any color inconsistencies are immediately apparent. This procedure completely eliminates the courier or overnight transmission of color proofs, while providing positive verification of file color integrity.
