London College of Communication hosts Interprint 2008 event

Press release from the issuing company

24th September 2008 – Master printmakers and their students recently converged on the School of Printing and Publishing at the London College of Communication for Interprint 2008. This unique festival of printmaking comprised workshops, master classes, and seminars by experts in the widest range of printmaking disciplines from all around the world.

The week-long event, organised jointly by the LCC and Camberwell College of Arts, enabled participants to experience master classes from the world's finest printing practitioners from as far afield as Cuba, Russia, South Africa and the USA. The activities ranged from screen printing, etching, lithography and woodcuts, to collography, book arts and letterpress. Each participating group created a limited edition of 60 prints based on the theme of 'Manifesto'. These exceptional prints, along with other work produced throughout the week, were the focus of an exhibition at the London College of Communication on Wednesday 4 September.

Sue Pandit, Dean of LCC's School of Printing and Publishing says, "As a flourishing centre of excellence for the education of graphic communication professionals, the LCC was delighted to host the fourth international Interprint symposium. It brought together talent from across the globe to share ideas and explore printmaking from different cultural perspectives. Some of the students who attended had never travelled outside their own countries, so the international experience was an extra stimulus to their creativity."
