Digital Imaging Association to Explore Practical AI Solutions for Printers at Its October 16 Meeting

Press release from the issuing company

The Digital Imaging Association (DIA – Toronto, Ontario, Canada) will hold its next in-person and online meeting Wednesday, October 16 at HP, 5150 Spectrum Way, in Mississauga, Ontario. Practical AI for Printers will look at how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is already disrupting the printing industry while introducing new, more efficient solutions. AI offers huge opportunities to optimize production processes, personalize customer experiences, boost competitiveness, and help employees and management perform their daily tasks much more efficiently, to name just a few. AI is arguably one of the most important technologies that humanity has created to date – and experts insist that nothing similar may come along again in our lifetime! According to an August 2024 report by Keypoint Intelligence, a huge 94% of 450 business leaders surveyed across various industries were already using AI in some way. Are you? Do you intend to in the future?

Guest presenters will be Mark Lewiecki, Senior Product Manager for the Adobe PDF Print Engine at Adobe, and Marc Raad, President of Significans Automation. Lewiecki will demonstrate features in Adobe Creative Cloud applications which use Artificial Intelligence to address real-world prepress challenges – such as generating difficult bleeds, and embellishment upsell ideas. He’ll also demonstrate the potential of Firefly in Adobe Express and Adobe Photoshop, to generate and inspire novel design concepts.

Raad believes the best – and only – profitable way forward for printers today is to adopt full in-house workflow automation, which now includes AI solutions. He’ll discuss the successes and lessons learned as Significans’ workflow integration team installs the best solutions for a printer’s unique production needs. He’ll also get you up to speed on how AI is helping printers right now – including the latest AI technologies such as Pattering and ChatGPT, which his team has been deploying for quite some time. Moderator for this timely event, which will include a question-and-answer session, will be Stephen Longmire, National Sales Manager at Sydney Stone.
