Leadership Changes at WhatTheyThink as Company Continues to Consolidate WhatTheyThink and APTech

Press release from the issuing company

WhatTheyThink, the leading global media organization serving the printing and publishing industries, today reported it continues to work toward a seamless transition subsequent to the combination of APTech and WhatTheyThink under the WhatTheyThink brand as reported last spring. This includes the departure of Eric Vessels, who served as President of the combined organizations.

“Eric joined WhatTheyThink nearly 23 years ago, and we thank him for his long service and his efforts to help make WhatTheyThink the industry-leading organization it is today,” said Thayer Long, WhatTheyThink’s CEO. “I will be working closely with the WhatTheyThink team to ensure continued excellent performance, including our presence at PRINTING United, LabelExpo Americas and other events throughout this year and into next year. Stay tuned for some exciting announcements that are in the works! And, of course, we will continue to be the reliable source of industry news, analysis, and thought leadership.”

In addition to the Fall 2024 events, WhatTheyThink will be again hosting Amplify 2025, a specialty show that brings print finishing, binding and embellishments to the forefront, showcasing the brands, products, and processes that set themselves apart with metallics, spot coatings, die-cutting, folding and gluing, binding and more. Experience live equipment demonstrations, connect with leading brands and learn from industry experts. The event is scheduled for 10 to 12 June, 2025, in the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois. For more information visit www.amplifyprint.org.

Gina Danner, Chairperson of the Board of Directors, added, “The Board has been working closely with the WhatTheyThink team as we plan for an exciting and successful future, providing the information our members and sponsors need to continue to grow into the future. Our membership continues to grow, demonstrating that we are offering value to the industry. And we are always looking for member feedback in the spirit of continuous improvement.”
