SOUTHEND-ON-SEA, UK - Solopress is excited to announce that Paul O’Connor has been appointed to the role of Head of Commercial Development, working alongside Head of Business Development, Phil Foster, and reporting directly to MD Simon Cooper.

During his two decades of managerial experience within the print industry, Paul has held various roles at Printing.com, Grafenia PLC, and most recently Helloprint, where he was UK Country Director.

He joins Solopress less than a year after Phil Foster arrived from Saxoprint, and Jack Hughes and Peter Storey joined from Printed.com as Product Manager and Workflow Specialist respectively.

Paul will operate primarily from his base in Liverpool, with a remit that’s focused on, but not exclusive to, the market in the North of the UK. He will be onboarding, developing and maintaining client relationships alongside a broader role in developing Solopress’ position and offering within the UK Print trade.

Solopress MD Simon Cooper commented:

Paul’s immense knowledge and experience will be valuable assets as Solopress continues to grow. The fact that leading lights in our industry like Paul are seeing Solopress as a great place to develop their careers is really encouraging. I think that’s a reflection of our ambition, our vision and our values.

Paul O’Connor commented:

I'm thrilled to be starting a new chapter in my career with Solopress as Head of Commercial Development. It’s a fantastic time to be joining the company, with so much ongoing investment and some major projects in development.

Personally, it’s exciting for me to be joining a business with such comprehensive production facilities. It gives my role the agility to respond to customer demand with a great degree of speed and confidence.

Paul’s appointment is part of an ongoing program of expansion by the Essex-based printer that has seen substantial recruitment across all levels of the business, and investment of over £5.5m in plant and equipment in the last year.
